The land of stories is a fiction series written by Chris Colfer. The series has 6 books which are all

equally great. In this book review, I will be talking mainly about the first book called the wishing spell.

When Alex and Conner Bailey are given a book by the grandmother they discover it leads to a different dimension. What they don’t realise is that this dimension that the portal has opened up is the fairy.

Together with the help of some fairy tale friends they must track down all of the materials to make a wand which will cast a spell to send them right back home, but something evil stands in their way and that something evil also wants the same wand that they are collecting.

With the end so near will the fatal twist prevent them from getting or make them want to never go home.

This book is hilarious and bittersweet the style of writing is not challenging but I would not recommend it to anyone younger than the age of ten.

My star rating:

Appropriateness: This book is very mild and does not swear but there are evil creatures and death involved in the book. It should be just fine for any kids who are fine with mild scariness.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Progress: This book moves at a generally good pace but can get slow at times.

⭐⭐⭐

Writing style: The writing style is very nice and involves lots of humour, occasional there might be a word which you might not understand, in some parts the dialogue can get heavy.

⭐⭐⭐

Plot: The storyline of this book is amazing and the twists are excellent. You never see anything coming and all the characters fit perfectly together like a jigsaw puzzle.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If this book looks good for you, the author is Chris Colfer and has written five other books in this series which are all amazing they seem to get better with each book. I would highly recommend getting this book and maybe even looking at the whole series.

I hope you enjoyed this review. If you have any feed back please put it down in the comments. Thankyou!
