Magnus Chase - Rick Gordan

Writer's picture: Kjr BlogsKjr Blogs

Magnus Chase is a spin-off of the world-known book series, Percy Jackson, written by Rick Riordan.

It follows the same kind of storyline seen in Percy Jackson except that all greek gods are Norse gods. It features all of Rick Riordan's loved dry sense of humor and some crazy plot twists.

It features some well-known characters such as Annabeth from Percy Jackson Series sorry if I am talking to much about Percy Jackson

Now let's into what the storyline of this book is like.

Magnus Chase is living hard on the streets with no home or carers, he is lonely and depressed when one day some random guy kicks him awake and says they're after you. Next thing he knows he is reunited with his obnoxious uncle who tells him his father is a Norse God.

Now the gods of Asgard are preparing for war and if Magnus Chase can't find the sword of summer that his father lost two thousand years ago there will be eternal doom

But first, he must die and enter the Kingdom hall of Valhalla, he must train and fight to earn his spot among his peers and not everyone seems to be who they say they are

With great friends and terrible enemies will Magnus chase be able to come over all the great challenges

Star rating:

Appropriateness: This book does have some crude language but it does not happen too often, it does as well have some battles which contain dead bodies and blood. I would say in terms of appropriateness this book should not go to anyone under the age of ten.

⭐⭐⭐

Storyline: The storyline is great and there are twists that you will never see coming at every corner. It is very entertaining and funny.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Story pace: The story pace begins fast then slower in the middle then the author ends the story with a bang, trust me you will not lose interest while reading this book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Readability: The language used in this book is fairly simple but there are some words that younger kids might not understand.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
