The Bubble Boy - Stewart Foster

The Bubble Boy is such a fascinating and I definitely learned so

something from this book. This book tells the story of an 11-year-old boy who has a really bad disease. If he stepped outside of his room for even more than a second he could catch any disease in the world and die! This is a very good and interesting novel but I would not recommend under 10’s reading this book as it can get a bit confusing and there is a lot of dialog, maybe reading with an adult is a better option. The boy often spends his days thinking about what life would be like outside his bubble, but then one day a new doctor comes to look after him, now the boy may actually be able to go outside his ‘bubble’ as he calls it.

This story show’s a lot of courage, curiosity, and hope. This boy never gives up, it also reminds me how lucky I am that I’m healthy and don’t have to be inside a hospital 24/7.

The writing can be funny and also a feel-good book. The story can be really descriptive and can also include a bit of doctor talk, as in like the boy describing getting needles and also blood, if you don’t like ‘doctor talk’ then still read the book but just be aware.

Star Rating:

Appropriateness: This book has no appropriate language or mature themes.

It’s completely fine for any children.

Plot:

The plot is set out pretty well, I don’t have much to say about the plot.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Writing Style:

I think the writing style is perfect. In the book that I have, they’ve set out the page in a really cool way, if you get the book you might understand what I mean.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Progress:

The progress in this story is fine. Like I said before there is a lot of dialog so if you don’t like a lot of talking this might not be the best book for you.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Overall this book is really interesting to read, and something different I haven’t seen many books like this so if you are looking for something a bit different then definitely check out this book!
